Insecurity threatening presence of personal universities– Bishop Kaigama

The Catholic Archbishop of Abuja, Arch. Bishop Ignatius Kaigama has actually said that insecurity is threatening the survival of the education sector, particularly personal universities.

Kaigama stated this while speaking at the 10th convocation ceremony of Veritas University on Saturday in Bwari, Abuja.

The Archbishop lamented that the constant attacks by bandits on the education sector threatens the existence of private universities and puts them at threat.

Kaigama stated: “The attacks by bandits and other criminal aspects on the education sector do not only affect the safety of trainees and personnel in schools however likewise straight or indirectly impact the survival of private universities.”

The Bishop further got in touch with the federal government to take drastic steps to enhance security in university schools to protect the lives of students.

“I, therefore, desire to utilize this medium to call on the federal government to take drastic steps to enhance on the security and safety of lives and residential or commercial properties in and around university campuses across Nigeria.

“This is in order to ensure their continued wellness,” Kaigama said.
