Obasanjo decorates kid shot by Boko Haram with Brigadier General rank

Former President Olusegun Obasanjo is now a proud daddy of a Brigadier General in the Armed Forces of Nigeria (AFN).

The retired General embellished his boy, Adeboye Obasanjo, with the brand-new rank after the current Nigerian Army (NA) promo.

Although the decor is usually done by the spouse and an exceptional officer, Obasanjo was accorded the honour being a former Commander-in-Chief.

The ceremony was held at the Nigerian Army Engineers (NAE) Headquarters in Bonny Camp, Victoria Island, Lagos.

The previous President was accompanied by the Towulade of Akinale Kingdom of Egbaland, Oba Olufemi Ogunleye.

Adeboye, an Engineering Corps member, holds two Master’s degrees and other credentials. He served in lots of operations and formations in Nigeria and abroad.

On September 8, 2014, the senior officer, then a Lieutenant Colonel, was shot by Boko Haram in Baza in Adamawa State. He was hit in the leg.

Some soldiers under the platoon he commanded passed away in the attack. Adeboye had actually been deployed to the battlefield from 3 Division in Jos, Plateau State.
