President Buhari didn’t decline Electoral Act Amendment Bill– Senator Adetunmbi

Senator representing Ekiti North Senatorial District, Olubunmi Adetunmbi, said on Wednesday that President Muhammadu Buhari did not decline the Electoral Act as being viewed in various quarters.

He stated the president comprehended the collaborative requirement of the executive and parliament and he requested for the change to stipulations that deal with ‘indirect or direct’ mode of the celebration primaries and not a rejection of the bill.

In a statement, which he personally signed and made available to journalists at the National Assembly complex Abuja, the legislator noted that a lot of political parties already have provisions for indirect or direct main elections and that is within the party’s discretion, keeping in mind that there was absolutely nothing brand-new.
