Authorities confirm killing of two by gunmen in Adamawa

The police have actually verified the killing of 2 individuals by bandits in Madagali Local Government Area of Adamawa State.

DAILY POST recalls that Madagali, which was under Boko Haram control between 2014 and 2015, had actually recently enjoyed relative peace.

However, report emerged that a teen, Ijarshu Markus, abducted alongside his mom and sibling recently from their house in Maiwandu village, had actually been murdered by his captors.

The mother and the other boy was saved by regional vigilantes, while the shooters made away with the deceased.

The remains of the 16-year-old boy was found three days later depending on the bush with two stab injuries on his chest and heart.

The killing of the kid came less than 14 days after the killing of the village head, Ahmadu Sikari, who was shot two times at his residence during the night when the outlaws attempted to kidnap him.

According to Mustapha Sanusi, the District Head of Duhu, the death of the village head and that of Ijarshu had triggered panic amongst locals, appealing to the government to increase security in the location.

He believes that some Boko Haram insurgents were now coordinating with other crooks to raise cash for the revolt through kidnapping for ransom.

DSP Suleiman Nguroje, the Police Public Relations Officer in Adamawa, while validating the incidents, described that the cops had deployed operatives to locate the wrongdoers.
