Army dislodge IPOB, ESN stronghold, recover arms, ammo

The Nigerian Army on Tuesday stated its operatives removed IPOB and ESN strongholds at Lilu forest, Anambra State

Onyema Nwachukwu, Director Army Public Relations in a declaration on Tuesday, notified that the operation which happened on Monday, January 17, 2022, resulted in the killing of some shooters.

He said throughout the operation, 10 pump-action shotguns, two locally fabricated guns, one revolver pistol, rounds of 7.62 mm special, live cartridges, machetes and IPOB flags were recovered.

He said the operation was jointly performed by troops of 82 Division, Nigerian Navy, 211 Quick Response Group of the Nigerian Air Force, Department of State Services and the Nigeria Police.

He even more added that IPOB and ESN fighters developed a well-coordinated dawn attack on the fortress, where plans were been improved to strongly implement the invalid sit-at-home declaration by the irredentist groups.
