2023: Orji Kalu comments as Abia APC divides

Senate Chief Whip, Orji Kalu, states he does not belong to any group or faction in the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Abia as 2023 draws near.

A statement by his media office on Monday maintained that the state chapter is united.

The previous Abia Governor debunked claims that his absence from the APC reconciliation conference indicated he was dealing with individuals’s Democratic Party (PDP).

Kalu stated since the APC observes probity, accountability and openness, no person can hijack the structure.

The business person condemned the linking of card carrying members of APC as “members of Orji Kalu group”.

Kalu informed the National Reconciliation Committee led by Sen. Abdullahi Adamu to overlook accusations against him.

“It is unfortunate, discouraging and wicked that a minority in Abia, who do not have the capacity to win elections can make incorrect and defamatory statements against Sen. Orji Kalu.

“Kalu throughout the 2019 basic elections utilized his resources to win seats in the national assembly despite the stiff resistance by the PDP-led Abia Government.

“Kalu has actually sustained his management in APC in Abia by regularly deploying financial and human resources to galvanise grassroots support for the party.

“Kalu will not join concerns with anybody as he will not permit people without electoral worth sidetrack him from focusing on delivering the dividends of democracy to the people.”

Thr declaration included that the legislator stays neutral and plays a father to all within the party.
