4 kidnapped trainees of Nasarawa university restore flexibility
The management of the Federal University of Lafia (FULafia) on Sunday said the four trainees of the organization who were abducted on January 13 have actually been released by their kidnappers.
DAILY POST had reported that the trainees were abducted by gunmen at the university neighborhood in the Mararraba campus on Friday.
The statement of their release is included in a declaration signed by Abubakar Ibrahim, Head, Information and Public Relations Unit of the organization, and made available to newsmen on Sunday in Lafia, Nasarawa State capital.
According to Ibrahim, the students were launched at the late hours of January 15.
He included that Prof. Shehu Abdul-Rahman, the Vice-Chancellor of the university expressed appreciation to the state government and the general public for their contributions, prayers and assistance throughout the trying minute.
He further said that the VC expressed gratitude to the security companies for their prompt interventions that led to the safe and fast return of the students.
“Consequently upon their release, the trainees have undergone medical checks and they were all found to be in excellent conditions to instantly resume their research studies,” he said.
He called on the trainees to stay calm and go about their regular activities on both schools of the university.
He, therefore, assured the parents, trainees and the general public of the organization’s dedication to making lives and property safe in and around the campus.
