Ibrahim Badamasi Babangida (IBB), the former Military President has opened up on why he has actually not taken another spouse given that the death of his better half, Hajiya Maryam Babangida.

IBB, 80, also spoke on the type of president he desires for Nigeria in 2023.

The former military president made the revelations in an exclusive interview with Trust television.

Maryam Babangida passed away on December 27, 2009, at the age of 61.

Maryam, who was Nigeria’s First Lady between 1985 and 1993, passed away at the University of California’s Jonsson Comprehensive Cancer Centre (JCCC) in Los Angeles, United States after fighting ovarian cancer for several years.

Considering that her death over 12 years earlier, many Nigerians had believed that IBB would take another spouse to keep him business but that has not taken place to date.

At some point, there was a rumour that IBB was going to take a new wife however he didn’t.

When asked during the newest interview why he has actually not taken another better half lots of years after the death of Hajiya Maryam, IBB stated: “No, I didn’t do it, you would have understood.
