Court discharges corps member implicated of eliminating boyfriend in Akwa Ibom

. Ms Odume was released on Thursday, January 13, 2022, by Justice Bassey Nkanang.
It could be remembered that Ms Odume was said to have killed Akwaowo in cold blood throughout a run-in between them on January 10, 202, at the deceased’s Abak Road home in Uyo.
Cops initial examinations according to the Public Relations Officer, Odiko Macdon, revealed that the “departed (Akwaowo) took the implicated (Ms Odume) to his home and while in your house, Akwaowo Japhet got a machete and attempted to kill her. She stated the implicated dispossessed him and utilized the same machete on him, which caused his death.”
The Presiding judge, Justice Nkanang, in his judgment struck out the case and released the implicated individual following the Nolle Prosequi (official notification of discontinuation of the prosecution without a conviction) gone into by the Attorney General of the State, dated January 10, 2022.
The court noted that the action was pursuant to area 211 (1) (c) of the Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria and Section 71 of the Criminal Code Procedure Law of Akwa Ibom.
