APC Convention: DG Progressive Govs Forum accuses Buni of manipulating celebration’s choice

The Director-General of the Progressives Governors Forum (PGF), Dr. Salihu Lukman has actually implicated the Chairman of the Caretaker/Extraordinary Convention Planning Committee (CECPC) of the All Progressives Congress (APC) of manipulating the party’s choice as relates to the February date repaired for the national convention.

He stated the celebration required leaders that would truly be genuine and support the trust invested in them.

Lukman mentioned this Tuesday in Abuja while giving a keynote address at the APC Stakeholders Summit, organised by the APC Rebirth Group with the style; “Rebuilding the APC of our Dreams.”

He was of the view that the celebration required leaders that would appreciate the choices of other members of the party.

Lukman stated: “It totals up to disrespect when a leader who is supposed to carry out a choice jointly taken declined to do so. If there is a choice, leaders must implement such choices really consistently; we don’t want leaders that will claim to understand much better than people who took a choice.

“That is the problem we are having in the celebration now, when choices are taken that do not suit leaders, they attempt to manipulate such choices and make sure that such choices were not executed.

“That is why we are where we are, a decision is plainly taken that February 5th will be the date for the celebration’s National Convention and somebody will sit down and he is manipulating. We can not have a political celebration that disrespects choices. APC is ending up being unappealing.”

The Director-General noted that the celebration does not desire leaders who would claim to know much better than those who took choices at conferences, saying this is the problem the party is currently having.

Lukman included that if the party was having a hard time to hold its nationwide convention; it ought to start to think about how it would handle the procedure that would produce prospects for the 2023 basic elections.
