President Muhammadu Buhari has greeted media entrepreneur, business mogul and politician, High Chief Raymond Aleogho Dokpesi, as he celebrates his 70th birthday on October 25, 2021.

The President, in a statement issued Monday by his media aide, Garba Shehu, saluted the extraordinary courage displayed by the communications guru in launching into uncertain territory.

He said the celebrant blazed the trail in private media broadcasting and in the process, created jobs and opportunities for Nigerians, adding that others have since followed this feat.

President Buhari, who joined the family, friends and the media industry in celebrating the founder of DAAR Communications, owner of AIT/Raypower broadcasting stations, urged him to continue to use his platforms for the enlightenment of Nigerians as well as forging unity and cohesion in the country.

He prayed that Almighty God would bless him with good health and long life in the service of humanity.

President Buhari is of the All Progressives Congress (APC) while Dokpesi is a chieftain of the main opposition party, the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).

The media guru was prosecuted for corruption by the Buhari-led government immediately after it came into power in 2015.
