Manchester City offered Raheem Sterling in exchange for Ansu Fati

Ansu Fati could have ended up at the Etihad Stadium this summer. At least that is what Man City tried towards the end. ‘Sport’ says that Pep Guardiola’s men even offered Raheem Sterling to Barcelona so that the Catalans would accept selling Fati, but even that did not lead to the player being sold.

The summer passed and Pep Guardiola ended up without the attacker he so desperately wanted. “We don’t have a goalscorer,” the Man City boss lamented recently.

The Sky Blues came very close to signing Cristiano Ronaldo and they later attempted to get Ansu Fati, but they missed out on both.

‘Sport’ reports that Man City tried everything possible to try and get Ansu Fati to move to the Etihad. They even ended up offering Raheem Sterling in exchange, but Barcelona said no.

The British press says that Barcelona were interested in Sterling and they also asked Man City for Bernardo Silva. The problem was that the Catalans did not want to sell Ansu Fati. Barcelona tried to buy Sterling or Bernardo Silva in exchange for Dembele or Braithwaite, but the Mancunians were not interested and turned it down.

At the last minute, Man City desperately tried to get Ansu Fati in exchange for Sterling, aware of the fact that he was liked by the Catalan giants. Barcelona rejected this proposal though as they felt they would have been dealt with a worse hand because of the enormous potential Fati has.
