Lagos: Missing lady Oritoke Manni allegedly killed, buried by boyfriend
Lagos State Police Command has arrested Segun Titilayo, a resident of Otolu town in Ibeju Lekki.
The 29-year-old is accused of killing and burying the corpse of his girlfriend, Oritoke Manni.
The 26-year was a Bar attendant at K.C Hotel, Apakin Town.
Oritoke had been declared missing, Police Public Relations Officer, Muyiwa Adejobi said in a statement on Thursday.
He noted that on October 13, 2020, at about 11am Segun called the deceased by phone to visit him.
But Oritoke could not be traced afterwards.
Adejobi recalled that on November 7, 2020, Engineer Adegbago David, of Adron Homes and Properties, made a report to the Police Station at Akodo Area.
David said while the company was excavating its site at Otolu Town, their Caterpillar exhumed a decomposing corpse.
It was later identified as Oritoke and evacuated to a morgue.
“The police placed a manhunt on the suspect and he was arrested. He is being detained at the SCID Panti and giving useful information to help the police in its investigation”, the statement added.
Commissioner of Police, Hakeem Odumosu, condemned the crime and directed the Deputy Commissioner of Police, State CID, Yetunde Longe, to carry out a thorough investigation.
