Arsenal legend, Paul Merson, has informed the club to offer Bukayo Saka and Emile Smith Rowe after this season, if they refuse to sign new agreements.

Both players who came through the Gunners academy, have ended up being essential members of Mikel Arteta’s squad.

Merson is sceptical over whether Saka and Smith Rowe will stick around.

While Saka is just restrained for another 2 years, Smith Rowe penned a long-term deal keeping him at the Emirates till 2026 just 7 months back.

“They are leading drawer and they are going to be essential to Arsenal completing in the top 4 this season. However I think Arsenal should get them tied down now,” Merson wrote in his Daily Star column.

“They should be talking now about 5 year contracts. Get them signed, and if they do not wish to sign, then sell them in the summertime.

“Don’t hang around and let them run their agreements down and let them choose next to nothing. Evaluate the water since there will be groups chasing them.”
