Uromi bank burglary: Police confirm recovery of N37m, 5 vehicles

The Police in Edo, on Friday, confirmed that some monies carted away throughout the lethal bank break-in in Uromi have been recovered.

Commissioner of Police, Phillip Ogbadu spoke with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN).

On Thursday afternoon, around 20 armed guys assaulted 4 banks in the town, operating for two hours.

About N37million and 5 automobiles believed to have been utilized for the operation were recovered from a bush.

The CP said the assaulters deserted the money and cars after recognizing that the police were closing in.

Edo Deputy Governor, Phillip Shaibu checked out Uromi, under Esan North-East Local Government Area, over the occurrence.

He consoled individuals and business owners, guaranteeing that the perpetrators would be captured.
