Catholic Pontiff, Pope Francis has lamented the risk of war in between Russia and Ukraine.

Pope Francis said the danger triggers him fantastic discomforts.

The Pontiff spoke yesterday at the end of his weekly general audience at the Vatican in Rome.

He condemned the “diabolic senselessness of violence” and asked the Madonna, “the queen of peace, to save the world from the insanity of war”.

“I have excellent pain in my heart due to the fact that of the worsening of the circumstance in Ukraine.

“I interest all sides to abstain from any action that might provoke more suffering to the populations, destabilising coexistence amongst nations and discrediting worldwide law,” Pope Francis stated.

He called on politicians to make “a severe evaluation of conscience prior to God” about the results of their actions.
