Buhari Three exceptional Nigerians have been gave the Nigerian National Order of Merit (NNOM) Award for years 2020 and 2021 by President Muhammadu Buhari.

The characters are: late Professor Charles Ejike Chidume, Science (2020 ), Dr. Oluyinka Olurotimi Olutoye, Medicine (2020 ); and Professor Godwin O. Samuel Ekhaguere, Science (2021 ).

The three Nigerians identified themselves in the field of medication and science, expressing the belief that the nation’s cumulative future rests on active participation in science and technology.

Giving the award on late Professor Charles Ejike Chidume, Science (2020 ), Dr. Oluyinka Olurotimi Olutoye, Medicine (2020 ); and Professor Godwin O. Samuel Ekhaguere, Science (2021 ), Buhari said in Abuja that he was really proud to welcome the new Laureates to the distinguished league of highly honoured citizens.

Buhari’s spokesperson, Mr Femi Adesina, divulged this in a declaration on Tuesday.

The President stated Nigeria would continue to celebrate and trumpet the scholars’ achievements as a shining example worthy of emulation by upcoming Nigerian young men and females.

“Please endeavour, at all times, to function as beacons of hope and goal for the younger generation of Nigerians, advising them that our survival and cumulative future as a country eventually rests on our being active individuals in worldwide developmental efforts, particularly in science and technology,” Buhari informed the receivers.

Buhari noted that because the Nigerian National Merit Award (NNMA) was developed forty-three years back, the addition of the three receivers would bring the overall number of recipients to only 79, confirming the high requirements of the Award and indisputable testimony of the rigorous adherence to quality and the merit-driven evaluation procedure for selecting laureates.
