Tottenham Hotspur striker, Harry Kane has determined Liverpool’s Virgil van Dijk as one of the hardest defenders he has dealt with in his profession up until now.

Kane said this ahead of Tottenham’s FA Cup fourth-round tie against Brighton on Saturday.

Van Dijk has been in imperious type for Liverpool since returning from injury in 2015.

The Dutchman has been an essential part of Liverpool’s enhanced defensive screen after their centre-back crisis last season.

“Van Dijk’s a wonderful defender, he’s corresponded now for Liverpool over several years,” Kane told Amazon Prime Video Sport.

“Obviously won the Premier League and the Champions League.

“Tough protector, he’s been doing excellent this year after his injury last year.”
