No fewer than 19 individuals lost their lives in a deadly motor mishap that took place along Damaturu to Potiskum roadway on Thursday.

The secretary of the General Hospital Damagum, Malam Hamisu Mu’azu, said the mishap occurred along Fune town in Fune Local Government Area of Yobe State.

He said the mishap included 3 gulf cars and trucks, 2 of which were communicating passengers from Damagum to Maiduguri for a wedding.

According to him, 19 people passed away instantly, 12 out of them are members of one family in Damagum.

“While the other one was coming from Damaturu, the other two were stated to be heading to Postiskum and they had head-on collision at Fune town. The accident was as an outcome of over speeding and careless overtaking by the motorists,” Hamisu stated.

He included that just 2 children made it through from the two automobiles and they were required to Teaching Hospital Damaturu for treatment.
