Roadways linking federal secretariat Abuja to be shut over Armed Forces Day

Ahead of the Armed Forces Remembrance Day, commemorated every January 15th, the Federal Government has actually bought the closure of roads linking the National Arcade, Abuja as from 2:00 pm on Friday.

The regulation was included in a circular that originated from the Office of the Head of Civil Service of the Federation, Dr. Folasade Yemi-Esan.

The circular called the attention of all Ministries, Departments and Agencies (MDAs) of federal government situated around the location, including the public.

It informed that there would be a closure of the linking roadways to the federal secretariat from 2.00 pm timely today.

The circular which DAILY POST got access to was signed by the Permanent Secretary, Service Welfare Office, Office of the Head of the Civil Service of the Federation, Dr. Ngozi Onwudiwe, on behalf of the Head of Service of the Federation.

Recall that the armed forces remembrance day is an annual activity to honour the country’s fallen heroes.

As has been the custom, the President, his Vice, Senate President, Speaker of your house of Representatives, Chief Justice of the Federation, consisting of other leading federal government functionaries are expected to lay wreaths at the National Arcade, Abuja on Saturday, January 15

“To this end, all workplaces within the Federal Secretariat Complex are to be vacated at 2.00 pm on Friday, 14th January,” the circular advised.
