The Governorship candidate of the Allied Peoples Movement (APM) in the 2019 governorship election in Ogun State, Hon. Adekunle Akinlade, has thrown his support behind the teeming Nigerian youths calling for the end of police brutality in the country.
Akinlade also called on government at all levels to address the requests of the youths as early as possible to avert another “Arab Spring” in Nigeria.
In a statement on Saturday, the former House of Representatives member posited that Nigerian youths are justified in their peaceful demands against the defunct SARS officers, “who have little or no regards for human lives and civil rights.”
According to him, youths are now awaking to their responsibilities by demanding improvement in the socio-economic and political situation of Nigeria.
“This is scary and impressive at the same time because Nigerian youths are beginning to take a position about their lives and Nation, he stated.
In his prayer, Akinlade said, “I pray that those in charge see the danger of this prolonged and coordinated protest across the Nation – Arab Spring on my mind. God save Nigeria!”
