Timo Werner opens up on Champions League fear under Lampard
Former Manchester United player, Michael Owen, has predicted Chelsea to beat Barnsley when both teams clash on Thursday night in the FA Cup fifth-round tie at Oakwell Stadium.
Owen also predicted Everton to win Tottenham Hotspur at Goodison Park on Wednesday night.
According to him, Manchester United will defeat West Ham United on Tuesday night at Old Trafford, while Leicester City will beat Brighton.
Providing his predictions, Owen told BetVictor: “Both sides come into this having drawn each of their fixtures at the weekend. However, their recent form has been good overall, so I am expecting a tight game here.
“This could be a case of who blinks first, but I fancy United to get through to the next round. Manchester United 1, West Ham United 0.”
Commenting on the Barnsley vs Chelsea game, Owen said, “It’s been so far, so good for Thomas Tuchel at Chelsea. The Blues certainly look more solid and come into this with their tails up after a good run of results.
“I can only see this one going one way, and that is with Chelsea being in the draw for the quarter-finals. Barnsley 0, Chelsea 2.”
On the Everton vs Tottenham Hotspur match, Owen said, “Spurs got a much needed win against West Brom at the weekend.
“I do not think there is much between these two on paper, however, I think Everton have enough character to grind out a result and make it through. Everton 2, Tottenham Hotspur 1.”
Speaking on the Leicester City vs Brighton fixture, Owen added, “Brighton is playing as well as I can remember just now. Huge wins against Liverpool and Tottenham came prior to a 1-1 draw against Burnley.
“Leicester’s mid-season momentum has quelled slightly, however, the return of Jamie Vardy will be a welcome sight. Leicester City 3, Brighton & Hove Albion 1.”
