Wike slams lawyer for questioning administration’s support for judiciary
Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) leaders in the South-West has urged members to unite to move the party forward ahead of the 2023 elections.
They urged state chapters to strengthen the platform before the coming congresses.
Dayo Ogungbenro, Zonal Chairman, signed a statement after a parley at the Government House, Ibadan.
Ogungbenro commended Governor Seyi Makinde for calling the “unity meeting”.
He also hailed Rivers State Governor, Nyesom Wike, for his visit to Oyo as part of moves to make peace among warring chieftains.
The chairman said the reconciliation committee led by former Osun State Governor, Olagunsoye Oyinlola, has till the end of February to submit its report.
Senator representing Ekiti South District, Abiodun Olujinmi told newsmen that the gathering agreed to mobilise new members into the party.
“We also decided that there will be a larger meeting of the party once the reconciliation committee turns in its report so as to ratify it and take it to the national headquarters.
“We urged all the party members sitting on the fence and who really believe in the party to come in now so that we can build the party together”, the lawmaker said.
In attendance were former Ekiti State Governor, Segun Oni; PDP governorship candidate in Ondo, Eyitayo Jegede; Senators Abiodun Olujinmi (Ekiti), Hosea Agboola (Oyo); Hon. Rita Orji (Lagos).
Other chieftains including Adedeji Doherty (Lagos), Abayomi Kuye (Lagos), Muiz Dosunmu (Lagos), Kunmi Mustapha (Oyo), Bosede Adedibu (Oyo), Soji Adagunodo (Osun), Fatai Adams (Ondo), Olayinka Sunkanmi (Ogun), Adeleke Shittu, were present.
