Nigerian Soldiers Beat Up Shooting Stars Footballer For Refusing to Leave Restaurant (Video)
Shooting Stars striker Ebenezer Odeyemi has actually been attacked by Nigerian soldiers.
The event happened in Ibadan, Oyo State on Tuesday.
Telling his experience, Odeyemi, fondly called Lukaku, and 3 of his 3SC teammates Adekunle Adeniyi, Sochima Elum and Chimamkpa Onwubuchie, were attacked by soldiers while they were having supper at a close-by canteen at Idishin– near the club’s camp at Jericho Road, Ibadan after the club’s training session.
The former MFM striker said he and his colleagues saw the soldiers stroll towards them but chose not to take to their heels as they were innocent of any criminal activity.
While Adeniyi, Elum and Onwubuchie handled to escape when they were assaulted, Odeyemi could not and was lynched by the 4 officers.
“We were practically done eating when we saw these soldiers stroll towards the canteen and as obedient citizens innocent of any criminal offense, we continued our conversation due to the fact that we felt they were also there to consume also,” Odeyemi told The PUNCH.
“But they came there to beat us up. My teammates got away just as they wished to assault us and while I tried to run I dropped and they all attacked me. I had a cut on my face from the punches I received from them.
“I told them I’m a professional footballer with a state club (Shooting Stars) however they did not listen.”
