The attempt by the Ekiti State guv, Dr Kayode Fayemi to move the blame of his new tax policies on the previous governor, Segun Oni has been described as unbelievable and ignominious.

This was included in a statement made available to reporters in Ado Ekiti throughout the weekend by the Director of Media and Publicity, Segun Oni Movements, Jackson Adebayo.

Adebayo mentioned that the movement knew a relocation by the ruling All Progressives Congress government to join Segun Oni in adducing the factors for imposing extra tax on the people of the state in the name of Ekiti State Land Use Charge, which is being protested by the masses.

The State Government had just recently begun application of Land Use Charge, where all property managers will pay particular quantities on the landed residential or commercial property on annual basis to buoy the revenue of the state.

The land use charge covers all domestic and business home owned in Ado Ekiti metropolitan area and Ikere Ekiti, which are the industrial hubs of the state.

He implicated the government of deliberately imposing this draconian tax on the people of the state to mop up money for the forthcoming governorship election in the state however met large demonstration from home owners who have been overtaxed currently with or without any commensurable earnings.

According to the motion, in an attempt to ringle out of the protest the government chose to blackmail the then Segun Oni government of starting the policy before he was gotten rid of.

Adebayo kept that the APC government is ending up being jittery as they are fulfilling brick walls in offering their candidates to the people of the state thus their desperation to blackmail Oni whom they think about to be their significant problem in the race.
