Anambra Election: Appeal Court Upholds Andy Uba’s Sack

The appellate court dismissed Uba’s appeal, and concurred with the lower court judgement disallowing the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) from acknowledging the Anambra APC prospect and the party’s involvement.

Andy Uba The nullification of Senator Andy Uba’s involvement and election as All Progressives Congress party prospect in the concluded 2021 Anambra gubernatorial election has been supported by the Appeal Court in Abuja.

This comes after the court upheld the December 20, 2021 judgment of Federal High Court.

In a judgment delivered on Wednesday, February 23, 2022, the appellate court dismissed Uba’s appeal, and agreed with the lower court judgement barring the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) from recognizing the Anambra APC prospect and the party’s participation.

The Appellate court kept in the judgment that Andy Uba’s appeal lacks benefit as it did disappoint any show why the decision of the lower court, which nullified his candidateship, which of APC participation in the gubernatorial election need to be set aside.

The three-man panel held that Andy Uba’s nomination was void, political heist and scams.

In another judgement, the Anambra State High Court being in Awka on Wednesday declared as a nullity, wards, city government and state congresses held by the All Progressives Congress (APC) in January 2022 in Anambra.

The party had performed congresses that produced Mr Basil Ejidike as the state chairman. Court ruled that the workout contravened the initial Interlocutory injunction earlier provided by the court.
