Senate Reveals Mode of Voting on Constitution Review

The Nigerian Senate has actually revealed the mode it will utilize to vote on Constitution Review.

According to the Senate, the ballot will be done electronically and will also be sent live on tv stations.

Senate President, Dr Ahmad Ibrahim Lawan stated this in his remark to close Wednesday’s plenary.

Lawan directed the Chief Whip of the Senate, Senator Orji Uzor Kalu to make sure the functionality of the electronic gizmos at a loss chamber so as not to constitute any encumbrance during procedures.

He firmly insisted that no excuse will be captivated for the equipment in the chamber not to work efficiently as the Constitution Review was a tactical legal activity.

“Distinguished Senators, we will cast votes on Constitution Review from Tuesday next week which will last for two days.

“The Chief of the Senate should make sure that all our electronic gizmos are effectively checked and are operating”, he said.

The Constitution Review Report which was earlier laid on the flooring of the chambers by the Constitution Review Committee Chairman and Deputy Senate President, Ovie Omo-Agege on Wednesday would be deliberated for 2 days starting from Tuesday 1st March to Wednesday 2nd.
