Long queues resurface in Ibadan as more petroleum stations closed down [PICTURES]

Long queues of tricycles, motorcycles and cars and trucks have resurfaced again in most parts of Ibadan, the Oyo State capital.

A DAILY POST reporter who went around major areas of Ibadan on Monday and Tuesday observed that the long lines have resurfaced in most of the petroleum stations in the ancient city.

Some of the areas checked out by our correspondent include Sango, Mokola, Agodi Gate, Secretariat Road, Ring Road and Total garden.

Others are Dugbe, Iyaganku, Apete, Awotan, Bodija, Ijokodo, Eleyele and Adamasingba.

DAILY POST had a couple of weeks ago reported that long lines

resurfaced in Ibadan due to an alarm raised by the Federal Government that adulterated petroleum products have been imported into the nation. The closure led to long lines in the majority of the petroleum stations

that opened for customers two weeks earlier. Our correspondent nevertheless reports that long queues have once again resurfaced in Ibadan.

An investigation by a DAILY POST correspondent exposed that the majority of the stations that came from independent online marketers had closed their stations.

Only a few of them that opened have actually increased their costs, specifically those in the rural areas of Ibadan. DAILY POST learnt that major marketers, whose stations are open, still sell at their old rates.

Chairman, Independent Petroleum Marketers Association of Nigeria (IPMAN), Oyo State branch, Mr. Bukola Mutiu, when contacted decreased to talk about the matter.
