Sanwo-Olu signs expenses to develop 2 Lagos State-owned universities

Lagos State Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, has actually signed expenses to establish new state-owned universities following the approval of the legislature. They are Lagos State University of Education and Lagos State University of Science and Technology.

The assent sends Lagos State Polytechnic (LASPOTECH) in Ikorodu, Isolo and Surulere to University of Science and Technology.

Adeniran Ogunsanya College of Education (AOCOED), Ijanikin and Michael Otedola College of Primary Education (MOCPED), Epe, become Lagos State University of Education.

Sanwo-Olu stated for Nigeria to reach greater heights of advancement, the federal government should invest in transforming education.

The guv assured that Lagos will put Science, Technology, Engineering and Math (STEM) at the leading edge.

“We are investing into the quality of the curriculum and strength of the programs provided. This action today will enable NUC do its due diligence.

“We are now blessed with 2 extra universities signing up with LASU established in 1982 by the first Executive Governor of Lagos State, the late Alhaji Lateef Jakande,” he said.Attachments area
