The Accident Investigation Bureau of Nigeria, AIB, has said a cops helicopter that took off from Abuja has crashed at the Bauchi Airport.

AIB, nevertheless, said no life was lost in the crash.

A statement by the body disclosed that the crash happened on Wednesday 26th of January 2022.

“On 26th January 2022, Accident Investigation Bureau, Nigeria was alerted by Nigerian Airspace Management Agency (NAMA) about a mishap involving a Bell 429 helicopter with Registration Marks 5N-MDA owned and operated by the Nigeria Police Force (NPF).

“The accident occurred on 26th January 2022 around 7:30 pm (Local Time) at Bauchi Airport.

“The NPF helicopter had actually departed Abuja at 16:54 UTC for Bauchi with Six individuals onboard preserving 5,500 ft.

“There were some injuries but no death.”

AIB appealed to those around the scene of the crash for photos video evidence that would assist in its examination.
