Panic As Gunmen Kill Policeman, Abduct Expatriate In Edo


File picture Some gunmen who are thought to be kidnappers have abducted a migrant working with Hartland Construction Company in Idegun, Etsako West Local Government Area of Edo State.

This comes less than one year after another expatriate working for the company was whisked away at Ahor on the Benin Bypass, Tribune reports.

The foreign supervisor of Agbede/Anwain Road, a task of the Edo State Government, was apparently abducted on Monday night after the mobile police officer assigned to safeguard him was shot dead by the heavily armed thugs around the regional secondary school.

Recall that during the operation at Ahor in June in 2015, the chauffeur was killed by the suspected kidnappers while the two armed mobile authorities guards handled to escape.

An eyewitness stated that the occurrence occurred during an evaluation of the road by the migrant when the armed guys numbering about 5 unexpectedly appeared from the bush with weapons, eliminated the cop and nabbed the immigrant away.
