2 die as cars and truck rams into truck on Lagos-Ibadan road

Two guys have died in a mishap that occured at Fidiwo, along the Lagos-Ibadan highway, Ogun State.

DAILY POST learnt that the crash happened at about 3:18 pm on Friday, including a Lexus SUV and a truck.

The Lexus RX35 was registered as AKD405AQ, while the Mack truck has JE32 XM as its registration number.

The representative of the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) in Ogun State, Florence Okpe, validated that 4 men were associated with the accident.

“A total of 04 individuals were involved, all male adults. No injury was sustained, but 2 persons were tape-recorded dead from the crash.

“The presumed reason for the roadway crash was extreme speed, which led to loss of control,” Okpe said.

She added that bodies of the departed victims have been transferred at FOS Morgue, Ipara.

While describing the mishap as avoidable, the Ogun FRSC Sector Commander, Ahmed Umar, cautioned drivers to avoid excessive speed, particularly when turning or approaching a junction point.

Umar condoled with the households of the crash victims, prompting them to contact the FRSC office in Ogunmakin for more details.
