Army dislodge IPOB, ESN stronghold, recuperate arms, ammo

The Nigerian Army on Tuesday said its operatives removed IPOB and ESN strongholds at Lilu forest, Anambra State

Onyema Nwachukwu, Director Army Public Relations in a declaration on Tuesday, notified that the operation which took place on Monday, January 17, 2022, resulted in the killing of some gunmen.

He said throughout the operation, 10 pump-action shotguns, 2 in your area produced weapons, one revolver handgun, rounds of 7.62 mm unique, live cartridges, machetes and IPOB flags were recuperated.

Recovered were mobile phones and laptop computers

He stated the operation was collectively conducted by troops of 82 Division, Nigerian Navy, 211 Quick Response Group of the Nigerian Air Force, Department of State Services and the Nigeria Police.

He further included that IPOB and ESN fighters developed a well-coordinated dawn attack on the fortress, where strategies were been perfected to violently implement the invalid sit-at-home declaration by the irredentist groups.
