Femi Branch, a popular Nigerian actor, is not happy with the way Nigerian culture is being rubbished by some people.

Citing the instance of questionable cross dresser, Idris Okuneye, aka Bobrisky, who was apparently sent away from Edo State since of an ill-mannered statement he made about the king, Branch stated such behaviour needs to not be excused.

While in Benin to participate in a celebration, Bobrisky had actually made a video in which he asked the Oba of Benin to mary him.

Speaking during an Instagram Live session kept track of by Sunday Scoop throughout the week, the actor stated, “A great deal of people fulfill me and say, ‘I do not truly watch Nigerian movies but I enjoy your own motion pictures’. With due apologies, that is one of the dumbest things individuals state. Is my own motion picture a Togolese one? That is one of the factors I appreciate Benin culture. Look at what took place just recently. Bobrisky made a joke. There are some organizations you do not joke with.

“Bobrisky could say he is a Yoruba man (or babe); however ‘she’ wants to be resolved. He needs to have been seeing how some Yoruba obas have been acting in recent times. That need to have made him feel he might make such a comment about the revered Oba of Benin. It was when he made that statement he understood the Oba of Benin isn’t just any king. Some people thought the reactions were a bit excessive but Benin people don’t joke with their culture. And that is since the Oba of Benin does not ‘carry himself’ anyhow. Our culture and custom are passing away by the minute and people do not even appear to be worried. Since they do not joke with their king and their king likewise does not joke with their custom, there was an outcry by the indigenes of Benin. Do you believe if Bobrisky had made such a statement about a Yoruba oba, people would have talked? Let us inform ourselves the reality. Is it normal to see our kings on Instagram romping with ‘commoners’?”
