Atiku Abubakar, previous Vice President, has applauded the Super Eagles for beating the Falcons of Sudan.

Nigeria defeated the Sudanese side 3-1 in their second leg encounter in the ongoing African Cup of Nations, AFCON, in Cameroon.

Goals from Samuel Chukwueze, Taiwo Awoniyi and Moses Simon provided the three-time champions a three-goal lead against Sudanese.

Atiku required to his Twitter page, describing Nigeria’s win as a gift to the remembrance of gallant militaries.

His tweet read, “Textbook triumph over Sudan. Well done, Super Eagles, @NGSuperEagles.

“An excellent result to commemorate as a nation, and likewise a present to the remembrance of our gallant armed forces.”

Nigeria are through to the knockout stages of the 2021 Africa Cup of Nations, following today’s win.

The Super Eagles had actually beaten Egypt 1-0 in their very first Group D component.
