Sir Shina Peters, the veteran Afro-juju musician and a close ally of the deceased, told Saturday Beats that he lost consciousness when he was notified of Kujore’s death.

Describing his relationship with Kujore, he stated, “I was the first person Kujore’s child connected to on the phone right away after his death. I shrieked and lost consciousness when he broke the sad news to me.

“It took the assistance of those who were with me in Abuja at the time to restore me after I fainted. I needed to abandon all I was performing in Abuja and headed to Lagos instantly because I knew that we, members of the Association of Juju Musicians in Nigeria, have so much to do in memory of him.

“I reached out to our President, Queen Ayo Balogun, so we might start to make strategies. Dayo and I had a very close relationship, and this makes the whole thing appear like a dream to me. It has actually been challenging for me to accept the truth that Kujore is gone.

“I will undoubtedly miss him for his talent and our friendship due to the fact that we grew up together and we both performed along with Prince Adekunle. Also, we started our bands around the same time. We had so much in typical. Until Kujore’s demise, I had just felt that method when Michael Jackson passed away.”
