2022 Armed Forces Day: Gov Ortom carries out wreath laying [PICTURES]

As part of activities marking completion of the 2022 Armed Forces Remembrance Day Celebration, Governor Samuel Ortom, on Saturday, carried out wreath laying event at the Remembrance Arcade at the IBB Square, Makurdi.

Guv Ortom, on arrival at the IBB Square, received national salute from the parade, after which he examined the Guard installed by guys of the Armed forces prior to proceeding to perform the wreath laying event.

The Governor signed up with other dignitaries and top military officers in wishing Nigeria and her fallen heroes and laying of wreaths.

The Governor thereafter launched pigeons into the sky to symbolize peace for Nigeria.

Guv Ortom had previously at an interdenominational service to mark the 2022 Armed Forces Remembrance Day Celebration, communicated the Benue State Government’s decision to support each household of security workers who died in the course of protecting Benue from 2017 to date with N500,000 each.

Benue State Deputy Governor, Engineer Benson Abounu, Tor Tiv, Professor James Ayatse, Speaker of the Benue State House of Assembly, Rt Hon Titus Uba and agents of security chiefs in the nation likewise laid wreaths at the celebration.
