Man City vs Chelsea: Thomas Tuchel asked to keep Lukaku on bech

Former England midfielder, Fara Williams, has told Chelsea employer, Thomas Tuchel to keep Romelu Lukaku on the bench in Chelsea Premier League clash against Manchester City.

Williams thinks Lukaku is ‘desperate’ and so should be omitted from Chelsea group to deal with City at the Etihad on Saturday.

A win for Thomas Tuchel’s side will assist them keep their slim title hopes alive and close the space to seven points.

It would be a various case if they lose as City will now storm 13 points clear as they look to safeguard the title.

“I believe Kai Havertz might be a much better shout versus Man City than Lukaku,” the ex-Everton star informed Premier League productions.

“Lukaku appears like a player lacking confidence. He … is desperate to reveal he wishes to be there.

“He was so desperate versus Tottenham … Whilst he’s in that state of mind, it might be better not to play.

“I feel like he’s not at the levels that Havertz is at right now and Chelsea require everybody at their finest to beat Man City.”

Lukaku entered difficulty with Chelsea fans and the manager after he granted a controversial interview to Sky Sports Italia, saying he was not happy with the club and wished to return to Inter Milan.

Williams feels the Belgium international now wishes to prove to everybody that he wishes to stay at Stamford Bridge, firmly insisting that the 28-year-old may not be in his best state of mind to lead the line in their important clash versus Pep Guardiola’s side.
