AFCON: Super Eagles coach, Eguavoen problems strong warning after Nigeria defeated Egypt
Interim coach of the Super Eagles, Augustine Eguavoen has warned other teams at the continuous 2021 Africa Cup of Nations, AFCON, that Nigeria will approach all their games as it is a last.
Eguavoen offered the warning after Nigeria defeated Egypt 1-0 on Tuesday in their 2021 Africa Cup of Nations, AFCON, opening tie.
Kelechi Iheanacho’s very first half objective made sure Nigeria beat the Pharaohs at the Roumdé Adjia Stadium, Garoua.
Eguavoen’s males controlled the game, creating more hazardous possibilities than Egypt and bossing ownership.
“We are going to approach every video game like it’s a last, so we going to take it game after game and see where we get to because every group that has come to AFCON must be appreciated no matter the name of the country,” Eguavoen stated at his post-match press conference after the video game.
“There are no minors anymore in football, so if you do not put or plan in effort, you can be surprised.”
“So I do not understand who is going to win but we will try with our own methods to approach every game with all seriousness,” he included.
Nigeria’s next match protests Sudan on Saturday.
