Schools throughout the nation have been cautioned by the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) not to permit trainees and instructors with high temperatures into classrooms.Noting that the detection of the Omicron variation has intensified the requirement to ensure the application and adherence to public health measures versus the infection, the NCDC even more called for arrangement of handwashing facilities and hand sanitizers for hand hygiene.The Statement Read;”School administrators

should make sure the following to lower the risk of COVID-19 transmission within schools: Daily temperature checks at points of entry. Those with a temperature level above 38oC should not be allowed entry.”Provision of handwashing centers and hand sanitizers for hand health. Masks must be used by all those over the age of 6 years on school premises.”Always guarantee correct ventilation and minimum of one metre sitting distance between trainees in classrooms.”Surfaces consisting of desks, door manages etc must be decontaminated at least two times; at break time and at the end of the school day.” Avoid sharing of items such as pencils, biros, erasers, rulers, books. Personnel at ill bay must be trained and supplied with required Personal Protective Equipment(PPE ). Students and personnel who feel ill need to stay in the house and seek treatment at a health facility immediately.”All qualified persons must get vaccinated against COVID-19 at one of the close-by vaccination sites.
