Barca hope Eric Garcia can rest during the break

Barcelona are hoping that Luis Enrique will not call Eric Garcia up for the upcoming internationals, which would allow the Spain international to have a week’s rest after a summer in which he played in the Euros and the Olympic Games.

Barcelona hope that Eric García can rest during the international break after the match against Getafe, something that Luis Enrique would have to leave out of the Spanish national team squad.

Toni Juanmartí, journalist of ‘Sport’, has reported on this desire of Barca, who published in his Twitter account an information about Eric García. In it, he assures that the Catalan club will give the Spaniard a holiday after Getafe’s visit to Camp Nou on August 29th.

The idea of the Catalans is that, in this way, Eric Garcia can rest at least seven or eight days, after not having been able to stop during the summer, since he was first at the European Championship and then participated in the Olympic Games in Tokyo.

“Barca will give Eric Garcia a holiday after the match against Getafe. The club hope he will not go with Luis Enrique and will have seven to eight days off. The RFEF has not yet given the definitive ‘yes’, but at Barcelona there is optimism,” reads the publication of the aforementioned journalist.

However, the final word will be left to the Spanish coach, who will announce the squad for the qualifying matches for the World Cup in Qatar on Thursday 26th August.
