American Professional tennis player, Serena Williams has commended Prince Harry and his wife Meghan Markle for finding the courage to finally address their rift with the Royal house.
Recall that Meghan in the interview with Oprah Winfrey on Sunday revealed that she contemplated committing suicide after joining the royal family.
The 39-year-old accused the royal family of being racist, adding that their official concern was about the skin color of her unborn son.
She further revealed that the Royal Family also cut them off financially.
Reacting, Serena in a statement released via her Instagram account on Monday, commended Meghan for summoning the courage to speak about her experiences with the Royal Family.
According to her, the mental health consequences of systematic oppression and victimization can be very devastating and Isolating.
“Meghan Markel my selfless friend lives her life and leads by example with empathy and passion.She teaches me every day what it means to be noble.
“Her words illustrates the pain and cruelty she experienced.
“I know first hand the sexism and racism institutions and the media use to vilify women and people of color to minimize, break and demonize us.
“We must recognize our obligations to decry malicious unfounded gossip and tabloid journalism.
“The mental health consequences of systematic oppression and victimization can be very devastating, Isolating and all too often lethal.
“I want Meghan’s daughter, my daughter and your daughter to live in a society that is driven by respect.
“Keep in your memory the fruitage of the spirit is joy,peace,kindness, goodness,faith,mildness, and self control.Against such things, there is no law,” she said.
