Chief Basil Ejidike, the chairman of the All Progressive Congress (APC) in Anambra state has described the party as a beautiful bride as well as the urgent need for the Igbo nation to rally round the APC to enable them mainstream into national politics.

Ejidike stated this at the party’s review stakeholders meeting held in Awka at the weekend.

He said there was need for Ndigbo to join and support a political party that has demonstrated humanitarian gestures and displayed human face in the governance of the federation especially Ndigbo.

The APC state chairman noted that APC has done what other political parties has not done for Ndigbo.

He said Ndigbo should support a political party that respected and built a mausoleum for the late Zik of Africa, built an airport at Enugu and providing quality infrastructures in the southeast region.

He said Ndigbo should support the political party that is empowering the youths through N-power, social investment programmes as evidenced in the release of 75 billion naira for the youths coupled with diversification of the agricultural sector.

Ejidike maintained that Ndigbo should support a political party whose president has not stolen a kobo from the nation’s coffers and someone who has been ruling the country on a dwindling oil price.

He recalled that in all the 16 years the Peoples Democratic Party ruled Nigeria, nothing good happened in Igbo land in spite of having virtually all the bigwigs of the party from the region.

The chairman however noted also that some enemies of the party were at it again to vilify and tarnish the image and reputation of the party through fictitious reports in the social media platforms.

According to him, the characters were bent on creating rancour and acrimony in the party, stressing that in one of the reports, they alleged that he was manhandled but he said all were mere falsehoods.

Ejidike said, “I wish to state that no such incident ever occurred. I wish to call on party leaders and members to disregard such reports as they are figments of the imagination of the peddlers.”
