Napoli coach, Gennaro Gattuso has reacted to Victor Osimhen’s performance in their Coppa Italia 3-1 loss to Atalanta on Wednesday.

Gattuso spoke with reporters at the Gewiss Stadium after the semifinal loss, which sent them out of the competition.

Atalanta scored two goals through Duván Zapata and Matteo Pessina. Hirving Lozano reduced the arrears for Napoli on 53 minutes but Matteo Pessina wrapped up the scoring in the 78th minute.

Victor Osimhen was named in the starting lineup for the first time in three months and was subbed off in the 78 minutes.

Gattuso said the Nigerian international

is lacking sharpness in front of goal after spending several weeks on the sidelines.

“It’s not easy to be at the top of the game after being out for 94 days,” Gattuso told Napoli’s official website.

“He’s still lacking that sharpness, which is his main asset, but he’s gradually making progress. He’s capable of much more”.
