Frank Lampard is not discouraged by the way he was sacked at Chelsea and is determined to prove Roman Abramovich wrong in his next job, according to the UK Telegraph.

18 months after he was hired, Lampard was fired amid a bad run of form.

However, the former England midfielder feels he deserved more time at Stamford Bridge.

Lampard pointed to the fact that the Blues remain just five points from fourth-placed Liverpool in the Premier League table.

He had guided Chelsea to fourth place last season, while they lost in the FA Cup final to rivals Arsenal, as the former Derby County boss operated under a transfer ban.

Lampard felt the circumstances would allow him more time, but Abramovich dismissed the 42-year-old in a typically ruthless way, despite his close relationship with the former midfielder.

Chelsea was Lampard’s dream job and he is distraught that he couldn’t take the club forward or at least until the end of the season.

But he harbours no doubts about his managerial career and is now determined to prove Abramovich wrong by making a success of himself elsewhere.

Lampard is “not short” of interest in his services and he’s confident that he will land another top job, although he may take a small break from football given his wife is pregnant.
