The Yobe State Governor, Mai Mala Buni, has challenged judicial officers to strengthen the belief of the common man in seeing courts as his last hope.

He expressed optimism that the center would aid in building that capacity of judicial officers in the state to enhance speedy dispensation of justice in courts of law.
In his words Buni said, “This administration has great respect for the fundamental human rights of every citizen as enshrined in our law books regardless of their positions in society; In view of this, therefore, the government would continue to support the judiciary to protect the rights of the people, promote equity, justice and fair play.
“As the world takes advantage of the gains provided by Information Technology, the government would continue to support the judiciary to adopt the modern methods of research and documentation to move away from the traditional time-consuming methods, as the saying goes, ‘justice delayed, is justice denied’.
As partners in service to the people, Gov. Buni explained that it is imperative to continuously build on the existing harmonious relationship between the Executive, the Legislature and the Judicial arms of government to serve people in the state better.
He pledged his administration’s readiness to accord the judiciary the much-needed attention especially in providing a conducive working environment and logistics support to the interpreters of the law to give them the peace of mind required to dispense justice.
With the inauguration of the Legal Research and Documentation Centre he said “is a testimony to our collective drive towards improving the judiciary and dispensation of justice in our courts across the state, I, therefore, urge our judicial officers to make good use of this center to justify government investment in this project.
“By so doing, the government will be encouraged to always provide funds for the execution of more programs and projects as may be required”.
