English Premier League: How Chelsea could line up against Marcelo Bielsa’s Leeds United

Chelsea will be up against Leeds United on Saturday as they welcome the newly-promoted side to Stamford Bridge.

Lampard’s time at Derby County was largely shaped by meetings with Leeds United which was controversial and dramatic in all ramification.

But Frank Lampard would look to take Chelsea to the top of the Premier League temporarily at least before Tottenham (Hotspur) and Liverpool take to the pitch in their various match encounters this weekend.

About 2,000 fans will be allowed to make their way into the Stamford Bridge Arena to catch the action live while the Blues look to extend their fine recent form at home.

Here, DAILY POST takes a look at how the Blues could line-up for the contest against Leeds United.

Absent; None

Possible; Ben Chilwell (ankle)

Lampard has the full Chelsea squad available to him for this fixture while the major concern is keeping all his star names happy in the build-up to the encounter.

The only player that brings a kind of worry in terms of his fitness is left-back Ben Chilwell. The former Leicester City defender coped up a slight strain in his ankle while playing against London rival Tottenham last weekend.

And was an unused sub in Wednesday’s Champions League game against Sevilla. The fact that (Ben) Chilwell was in the matchday squad at all reveals about him being fit and available for this game.

And he is one of the players expected to feature in Chelsea’s line-up for this match.

Olivier Giroud’s four-goal score should give him the nod in the centre forward role, with Tammy Abraham likely to settle for a place among the Chelsea substitute.

Chelsea League outing (form) should be good enough to cause Lampard to return to the similar team list that started against Jose Mourinho’s Tottenham.

And this could see Timo Werner (Germany), and Hakim Ziyech (Morocco) return in the attack, while N’Golo Kante(France) and Mason Mount(England) make do with a place in the midfield position.

Chelsea’s defensive line is likely to be altered from what we saw against Sevilla in midweek.

We could see Reece James, Thiago Silva and French defender Kurt Zouma lining up alongside the returning former Leicester City left-back (Ben Chilwell) in the Blues Starting XI for Leeds United contest.
