Travellers groan as End SARS protesters block Delta road
End SARS protesters, on Sunday morning, blocked the popular Effurun roundabout in Uvwie Local Government Area of Delta State.
The roundabout is the gateway from Benin to Warri and from Port-Harcourt into Warri and its environs.
Many passengers were forced to trek long distance before they could get vehicles to their various destinations.
The peaceful protesters converged at the roundabout near Delta Mall as early as 6am. Vehicles were not allowed access through the roundabout to any location by the protesters.
They are demanding the end to the activities of the Special Anti-Robbery Squad, SARS, and the newly created SWAT Unit of the Nigeria Police Force, bad governance, poor representation, extra judicial killings by law enforcement officers and oppression.
The protesters said they will not leave the roundabout until their demands were met.
In a chat with DAILY POST correspondent, one of the protesters said they blocked the road to draw the attention of the Government at all levels.
