There was serious tension in Warri South Local Government Area of Delta State on Thursday after suspected armed robbers at about 9pm shot a mobile policeman dead in a filling Station at Etuwewe junction along Deco Road.
The hoodlums shot sporadically in the area before they attacked and killed the deceased, DAILY POST learnt.
They (hoodlums) also robbed their filling station and its customers who came to fuel their cars of unspecified amount of money.
The Divisional Police Officer, ”B” Division, CSP Benjamin Igometi, confirmed the incident in a telephone chat with Our Correspondent in Warri.
He noted that himself and his men were on their way with the lifeless body of the mobile policeman to the mortuary where it would be deposited.
The Delta State Commissioner of Police, CP Mohammed Hafiz Inuwa and the Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Onome Onovwakpoyeya were yet to pick calls or reply to text messages put across to them at the time of this report.
