Former Liverpool striker, Emile Heskey, has urged manager, Jurgen Klopp, to improve his squad’s in-depth this summer’s transfer window.

Heskey said this while reacting to Liverpool’s Premier League 4-0 defeat against Manchester City on Thursday night.

Klopp’s side was defeated by Pep Guardiola’s men at the Etihad Stadium, thanks to four goals from Kevin De Bruyne, Raheem Sterling, Phil Foden and Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain (OG).

“Any time it’s possible to improve,” Heskey told Sky Sports.

“When you look at the squad in depth I think they can definitely improve there.

“When you look at Liverpool’s starting XI they have arguably got the best, but when you look at that squad, Man City’s squad is above most of the squads out there, so you would definitely want to improve on that.”

Meanwhile, speaking after Liverpool’s defeat against Man City, Klopp admitted that his team lacked ‘fluidity’ during the encounter.

Klopp said: “They were quicker than us in mind. We lacked fluidity. Against Man City, you have massive problems.

“We had moments. We had chances, and we did not use them. The result we have to take,” he added.
